Brent Tuinstra

Brent Tuinstra underwent reconstructive jaw surgery on Tuesday, February 24.  Please pray for proper alignment of the jaw and patience as he remains on a liquid diet for six weeks of recovery.

Sara Karel

Sara Karel’s pathology report revealed a very small amount of cancer in one of the two removed lymph nodes following her mastectomy on Monday, February 2. Following her recovery, she will consult with her radiologist on March 3 to determine if radiation treatments are necessary.

Brother-in-Christ

A brother-in-Christ consulted with his oncologist on Tuesday, February 10, regarding a spot on a lymph node following surgery for testicular cancer. Doctors believe radiation treatments could effectively treat the lymph node. This brother will undergo additional scans in two weeks; he will then consult with his oncologist in early March regarding the best course of treatment.

Eris Timmer

Eris Timmer was transferred to Sheldon Meadows on Thursday, February 12. She will continue treatment for her open heel wound.

Bev Essenburg

Bev Essenburg traveled to MD Anderson Cancer Center in Texas February 9-13 to receive a second opinion regarding her current treatment plan. The MD Anderson Staff is recommending that Bev’s chemo be replaced with immunotherapy. Bev will consult with her oncologist in Michigan upon her return regarding a change in her treatment regimen.

Cheryl Elders

Cheryl Elder’s latest scan revealed no broken bones. She will consult with an orthopedic doctor on February 26 regarding her hip and knee pain.

Bruce Hoeker

Bruce Hoeker suffered a fall on Friday, January 24, resulting in torn ligaments. Fortunately, surgery is not necessary. However, doctors anticipate a lengthy healing of 6-8 months.

Deb Karsten

Deb Karsten's latest scan revealed that the mass in her chest is no longer inflamed, her lymph nodes are shrinking in size, and her blood and calcium numbers are normalizing. She will continue receiving weekly treatments (with every third week off).

Roger Elders

Roger Elders consulted with his oncologist on Friday, January 23, regarding the results of his latest PET scan. They will continue with his current course of treatment and care.

Jerry Huttenga

Jerry Huttenga is recovering at home after receiving a pacemaker and treatment for breathing complications. He underwent additional testing January 22 and 23 to determine the cause of his severe fatigue.

Ron Carlon

Ron Carlon was diagnosed with bilateral pneumonia on Friday, January 9. Additionally, he was confirmed to have Shingles on Sunday, January 11. Please pray for increased healing, strength, and rest as he recovers at home.

Faith Smit

Faith Smit continues to struggle with health concerns.

Tom Beltman

Tom Beltman returned home from a lengthy hospitalization on Friday, December 12. Praise the Lord! Please pray for ongoing healing and increased strength as he recovers from Guillain Barre Syndrome.

Mary Burgess recently underwent a CT scan; her cancer spots have shrunk. Praise God! She will continue with immunotherapy treatments and continues to feel well.

Jack Hoekstra's oral medication has shown signs of effectiveness in battling a recurrence of Non-Hodgkin's lymphoma.
