Sara Hower was recently diagnosed with breast cancer. Additional tests have also verified the presence of cancer in her bones--particularly her right hip. She has begun an initial course of 10 radiation treatments to minimize the presence of the cancer. Please pray for the treatments to be effective with minimal side effects.
Lois Groothuis (Friend at Home) consulted with her doctor regarding a recent scan of her broken knee cap. Fortunately, surgery is not necessary. She will participate in PT to assist with the healing process.
Emma Brouwer has been approved to participate in a new drug trial designed to reduce the recurrence rate of TNBC (triple-negative breast cancer). She received the first of three doses on Thursday, July 16. Please pray that the Lord uses this medication to provide ongoing health and strength.
Levi and Faith Boersma (FRC Mission Partners in Africa) covet your prayers regarding their first pregnancy. Faith is experiencing health complications near the end of the first trimester requiring her to be hospitalized in the ICU in Johannesburg, South Africa. Doctors evaluated the health of the baby on July 14. Please pray for an ongoing healthy pregnancy.
Faith Smit underwent outpatient surgery on Thursday, July 16, at the OAM Surgical Center. Doctors repositioned the left ulnar nerve while also performed carpal tunnel surgery on her left wrist.
Marlynne Goeman returned home on Tuesday, July 7, following rehabilitative care after a spinal ablation for a ruptured disc.

A brother-in-Christ consulted with his treatment team on Friday, June 19, following his post-surgical PET scan for testicular cancer on Friday, May 29. He underwent 4 segments of 5-day chemotherapy treatments beginning June 29; a two-week break will be taken between segments. Please pray for complete and total healing.
Cindy Carlon underwent a total knee replacement on Wednesday, June 24, at Corewell Blodgett Hospital. She is recovering at home.
Florence Schreur (Friend at Home) was transferred from Mary Free Bed to her home at American House on Monday, June 22, following treatment and care for inoperable blood clots.
Marilyn Sturm returned home on Thursday, June 18, following treatment for extensive fluid retention. She began OT/PT on Tuesday, June 23, to increase strength and energy as she continues to recover.
Jodi VanWienen underwent a lumbar MRI on Saturday, May 9. Doctors do not believe surgery is necessary. Instead, she will pursue spinal cord stimulation treatments.
